Rajay Ambekar is a portfolio manager at Cape Town-based Cadiz African Harvest Asset Management. He is responsible for analysing companies in the IT, media, telecoms and insurance sectors. Between 2003 and 2006, Ambekar was an equity analyst for African Harvest, where he also covered construction stocks, as well as IT and insurance companies. Ambekar’s tertiary qualifications include a BCom and post-graduate degree in accounting from the University of Cape Town. He has also completed a CA degree, and a CFA. Between 1996 and 1998, Ambekar completed his articles at Arthur Andersen. The following year, he took the post of senior audit manager at Andersen, which was then absorbed into KPMG. He is married with one daughter. When he is not entertaining, putting the baby to sleep or feeding her, he is playing squash, golf and tennis.
